when the first generation came out, the high price tag, the lack of 3g data connection and enterprise email support (specifically ms exchange server), and having unlimited data access with my work smartphone were enough to stop me from spending the $$$. even when my non-techy, non-gadget loving husband got his iphone from work, i was still holding strong and kept the longing at bay (well, aside from the occasional twinge when my iphone owning friends played with theirs).
but now with the 3g version about to be released i'm hard pressed. the biggest deterrent for me now is the mandatory 2-year data plan. still, it doesn't stop me from asking my hubby for this phone as a birthday gift! a girl can always try :)

While all you need is 3G... all I need is Verizon service. :| I have a feeling I'll be waiting a long time. *sigh* But I feel your longing!
i feel your angst. i've been holding out with my treo for a long time, but the palm OS is a dying breed, so i may have to go to the "dark side" before too long.
