two OB visits ago, my doctor ordered another ultrasound after measuring the ever expanding belly. i was still trending bigger than projected and she wanted to get twinkle's measurements. during the ultrasound, we saw that twinkle is big and while i didn't get all the measurements, i recall the technician measuring the circumference of his head... ready?? 9.33 cm. 9.33 cm @ 34 weeks --- in 6 weeks, there's a strong change that his head's circumference will be 10 cm... and a woman dilates to 10 cm max. o_O
with this new discovery, i've been a little worried about the labor and delivery. i trust my OB. what's more, i trust in God and know that He's got everything under control. still, i wonder how this will all work out. labor and delivery aside, there's another worry that popped up.
during this week's OB visit, my OB reviewed the ultrasound results with me. she didn't give specifics about estimated weight but she did say "he's going to be a chunky little monkey." that's good news but she also mentioned that the ultrasound also showed elevated levels of amniotic fluid and because of this, she is ordering nonstress tests to happen 2x a week until twinkle arrives. while i know the test is perfectly safe, completely proactive, and the right thing to do - there's a part of me that is worried about our twinkle and if he's ok. and it doesn't help when i read articles like this.
it's another test of faith.

not to worry about the head size. you'll be shocked at how soft that little skull is as you first hold baby and cradle his head to feed --- for awhile, it'll be like memory foam, how it molds to your hand! so in like fashion, your smart boy will mold to fit that birthing canal. as for the stress test, just as he will take mood cues from you when he is born, so will he take mood cues from you now. be kind to yourself, and your little one will follow your example. you're doing great!
