first -- twinkle is not here yet. we're still waiting for him to arrive. b and some of my relatives are on pins and needles. me? i'm anxious and very ready but not urgently anxious. it's still a bit surreal for me even though we're now at the very tail end of this 40-week journey.
june 17 marks week 40 and so far, no sign of him arriving. i've been experiencing brief, level 2 contractions that occur every 4-6 minutes but until these contractions become more uncomfortable/painful and longer, we're not in business yet. it's a waiting game and rather than get frustrated, i'm trying to stay patient and wait on God's timing.
still -- we're a planning family and at my last OB visit, we've built plan b. if twinkle doesn't arrive by next monday, we'll be headed to the hospital monday night and plan to get induced next tuesday morning. essentially, twinkle got served his one-week notice. personally, i'd prefer not to get induced and hope/pray that twinkle arrives beforehand but i don't know how much longer i can wait. it's really uncomfortable and well, he can only stay inside my womb for so long.
this past week, i've started my maternity leave. i've been putzing at home -- reading, nesting, cleaning, walking, visiting my OB, getting nst's at the labor and delivery ward, and watching way too much tv. it's weird to go from a packed 7am-7pm work schedule and going full throttle for several weeks to zero in less than a week. it's unnerving... now that i'm on day 3, i'm restless, bored and looking for something to do. i thought twinkle would be here right now but i'll heed the advice and try to rest up. =)
